Things To Do in Malmö

Malmö offers a lot of fun things to do and see. Sweden's third largest city offers great shopping, exquisite dining experiences and a contemporary arts center with an international reputation.

In Malmö, you also find lovely beaches such as Ribersborg strand, modern architecture as the building Turning Torso, and the public park Folkets Park, offering fun and entertainment for the whole family free of charge.

Folkets Park

Malmö Folkets Park offers fun and entertainment for the whole family free of charge.

Here you can enjoy adventure golf, cuddle a rabbit in the pet's corner, explore the reptile centre or hit the dance floor.

Turning Torso

When in Malmö, take a closer look at architect Santiago Calatrava's residential building Turning Torso.

With its 190 metres and 90-degree twist, Turning Torso is a truly spectacular experience.

Turning Torso is located in a waterfront residential district that is also worth discovering.

You can easily go there by public transport. From the hotel, there is a short walk to Malmö Central Station. Here you can catch bus no. 2 heading to the residential tower.

With an average of 25,000 visitors per day, the Emporia Shopping Mall just outside central Malmö is one of Scandinavia´s biggest shopping malls.

Shop for fashion, home decoration, health and beauty products, home appliances and much more. There are also several restaurants and cafés in the mall, so you can take a break when needed and fill up with new energy.

Things To Do With Kids in Malmö

When you visit us and Malmö with the little ones, we can warmly recommend a visit to a fairytale world filled with fun adventures! Funnys Äventyr is a culture house for children where play, fairy tales and adventure are always close at hand! Visit Fanny and all her friends at home, go for a ride in their magical fairytale carousel and watch cozy plays in the theater barn!

Another pro-tip is to go to Leo's Lekland, a play world for fun-loving children offering slides, ball pits, climbing frames, bikes, trampolines and much more.

You'll find Leo´s Lekland at Stadiongatan 24 in Malmö close to Cool Minds about 30 min by bus from the hotel.

And of course, Malmö Folkets Park is always a great recommendation if you have kids. This public park offers fun and entertainment for the whole family free of charge.

Hylliebadet Water Park

When you stay with us, it’s a good idea to bring your swimwear!

The Hylliebadet bathing centre is located about 15 minutes by car from the hotel, adjacent to the Emporia Shopping Centre. Perfect for a water-filled day with the family, it features child-friendly water slides, a toddler pool, a diving tower and an obstacle course.

If you'd rather train or swim for exercise, you can also take advantage of the gym and 25- and 50-metre lap pools. Don’t miss a chance to sink into the relaxation chairs and enjoy the heated pools or saunas in the relaxation area – a perfect way to unwind both body and mind.

St Peter´s Church

If you are interested in architecture, you might already have paid a visit to Turning Torso? Lucky you, we say! Another great tip for architectural lovers is to visit Malmö's oldest building, S:t Petri kyrka (Church of Saint Peter).

The church was founded in the early 1300s and is well worth a visit.

Take a virtual tour of the Church here, and prepare yourself for the real-world experience next time you visit Malmö. St Peter's Church is open daily with free admission. The address is Göran Olsgatan 4.

Moderna Museet in Malmö

Moderna Museet in Malmö is part of the State Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm.

The museum presents art from the 20th century as well as contemporary exhibitions.

Parks in Malmö

There are several of wonderful parks and recreational areas to visit in Malmö. Either on your own with a good book, or with a picnic basket with family and friends.

  • Pildammsparken - Malmö's largest park. Designed for the Baltic exhibition in 1914. Enjoy the park's beautiful flower arrangements and the rich and varied bird life.
  • Folkets Park - Sweden's first Folkets Park (People's Park) and model for several other folk parks around the country. Dated to 1893.
  • Kungsparken - Opened in 1872 by King Oscar II and thus the oldest public park in Malmö. Large feature of exotic trees and influenced by the continent's parks with a romantic character.
  • Slottsparken - Has one of the most popular walking trails in Malmö, as well as large open spaces. Made for frisbee and long picnics. In the park you will also find Malmö City Library.
  • Beijers park - Park with a theme playground, café and a stage free to use fore everyone. The park is a popular destination during the summer.
