Biff à la Lindström
On 4 May 1862, Lieutenant Henrik Lindström visited Hotel Witt in Kalmar in the company of friends. The Lieutenant wanted to invite his friends to enjoy a Russian dish he had tried in Saint Petersburg.
He purchased the ingredients and made sure they were prepared in the right way.
The result became known as the signature Lindström steak (Biff a la Lindström in Franco-Swedish), which is still served at the hotel.
