Amalienborg Palace

Amalienborg Palace is the official residence of the Queen of Denmark. Located in the heart of Copenhagen, you can visit the collections of one of the world’s oldest monarchies at the palace and at Rosenborg Castle.

At 12:00 noon, you can watch the changing of the guards at Amalienborg, and on special anniversaries you may also witness a balcony appearance by the royals.

The changing of the guard

Amalienborg Palace is famous for the changing of the guards at noon. Every day you can watch the guards as they march from their barracks by Rosenborg Castle through the streets of Copenhagen to Amalienborg Palace, often accompanied by band music.
