Orrestranda extends for about five kilometres and is Norway’s longest sandy beach. With its fine, golden sand and direct exposure to the open sea, it’s a favourite destination for locals and visitors alike. People come here to surf, swim, sunbathe, or simply enjoy peaceful walks along the vast shoreline.
Next to the beach, you’ll find Orre Friluftshus, an information and cultural centre dedicated to outdoor life. It hosts exhibitions, cultural activities and offers a small café where you can buy food and drinks. Public toilets and parking are also available in the area, making it a great stop for families and travellers exploring the Jæren coast.
Orre Friluftshus is open to the public from late June to mid-August, and on Sundays and weekends during the rest of the year.
The reception at the hotel can help you with directions and more information about visiting Orrestranda and other scenic spots along the Jæren coast.
