Peer Gynt

July 31 to August 8, 2026

The spectacular cultural festival Peer Gynt is held annually at the beginning of August. It is a meeting between the local legend Per and Ibsen's Peer. Our vision is: "We're going to make you laugh". Peer Gynt at Gålåvatnet has been staged every year since 1989, and has established itself as Norway's largest open-air theatre. The performance is performed in spectacular surroundings at Gålå in Gudbrandsdalen, with nature as a living backdrop - and with both professional performers and several hundred volunteers on and behind the stage

Stay at the artist hotel Breiseth in the heart of Lillehammer when you go to see Peer Gynt at Gålå.
