Only a short drive from Lillehammer, Nordseter is a scenic mountain area located 850 metres above sea level on Lillehammerfjellet. It’s the perfect starting point for mountain hikes, fishing trips and paddling adventures on the peaceful lake Nevelvatnet.

At Nevelvatnet, you’ll find a shelter cabin, campfire site and bathing jetty, ideal for a relaxing day by the water. Canoes, rowboats and kayaks can be rented, and there are plenty of inviting spots along the lakeshore to stop and enjoy nature.

From Nordseter, a short drive takes you further up to Nevelfjell (1,089 m.a.s.l.), one of the most popular viewpoints in Eastern Norway. Drive past the gate at Nordseter to Nevelåsen (between Nevelvann and Reinsvann) where you can park. From there, follow the well-marked trail that winds its way up the mountain.

The hike to Nevelfjell is perfect for families and rewards you with spectacular views of Lillehammer, the Olympic mountain Skeikampen, and even Jotunheimen and Rondane on clear days.
