Explore Helsingør

Kronborg Castle in Elsinore (Helsingør) is a UNESCO World Heritage site and known as the fictional home of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. It is one of Northern Europe’s finest Renaissance castles and is located precisely where the strait between Denmark and Sweden is the narrowest. The castle is surrounded by an impressive fortification with bastions and cannon batteries.

Here you can experience Frederik II’s magnificent banquet hall with its elegant tapestries and delve into the dark casemates deep under the castle to meet legendary Danish folklore hero, Ogier the Dane (Holger Danske). Few places in the world offer as much drama and history as Kronborg Castle. Definitely worth a visit.
