Lummelunda Cave

Looking for experiences in Visby and on Gotland? The hotel is an excellent starting point for those visiting the Lummelunde Cave, taking the family to Kneippbyn amusement and waterpark, or exploring the island of Fårö and the Blue Lagoon.

Just a 20-minute drive north of Visby lies the Lummelunda Cave, one of Gotland’s most famous natural attractions. On a guided tour, you’ll explore magnificent rock formations and wondrous fossils that take you 400 million years back in time. You’ll also learn how the cave was formed — and how it was discovered in the late 1940s.

The tour lasts around 30 minutes, and since the temperature inside the cave remains a cool 4–8°C year-round, we recommend bringing a warm sweater or jacket. Please note that the Lummelunda Cave is a protected nature reserve, and dogs or strollers are not permitted inside.
