Redeeming FirstCoins // Member benefits

Here you can read about how to redeem your FirstCoins and about all member benefits.

3.1 FirstCoins are valid for three full years from earning day. If they are not redeemed during this period, they will be deleted from your member account.

Note: FirstCoins you have earned up to April 1, 2025, will only be valid through 2025 (until December 31, 2025).

3.2 Bookings where FirstCoins are used for payment must be made by the member. You are not permitted to transfer FirstCoins to other members / persons.

3.3 To redeem your FirstCoins for a booking made on our website, log on to your First Member account at www.firsthotels.com/first-member. You can choose to redeem your FirstCoins during the booking process – either all your FirstCoins or just some of them.

3.4 You can use FirstCoins for partial or full payment of bills also during a hotel stay. This is only possible for bookings made through valid booking channels, cf. section 2.7. This means you cannot pay for purchases at hotels using FirstCoins if the booking for the stay has been made through third-party channels (such as booking.com).

3.5 For reservations made at Partner hotels/by First Hotels*, it will not be possible to pay with saved FirstCoins.

3.6 With cancellations made via the First Hotels website of bookings paid with FirstCoins, the FirstCoins used for the booking will be returned to the member account. Cancellations must be made via the "Change booking" link in the confirmation email you received when booking, or by logging on to your member webpages.

3.7 Any changes to bookings where either full or partial payment has been made with FirstCoins must be made via the chosen hotel or First Member Support. Such changes cannot be made via the website.

3.8 FirstCoins and First Member membership are personal and cannot under any circumstance be sold, transferred, inherited or refunded in cash.

3.9 The private use of bonus points earned in a job context is considered taxable income. Members are obliged to inform their employer / relevant authorities themselves and to pay applicable taxes.

3.10 FirstCoins can be redeemed for food and non-alcoholic beverages at all First Hotels in Scandinavia with the exception of hotel restaurants and other dining facilities not operated by First Hotels.

3.11 Here we provide an overview of member benefits on all member tiers:

SILVER:

• 2% of purchases awarded as FirstCoins
• • Based on your total purchases at the hotel
• Member discount when booking at our website
• • You will need to log in to achieve the discount
  • The discount applies to both prepaid and flexible rates on our website
  •  The discount cannot be combined with other discounts. You can always use your FirstCoins to pay for all or part of your stay.
• 300 SJ Prio points per night
• Exclusive offers

GOLD:
All above benefits plus:

• 3 % of purchases awarded as FirstCoins
• Early check-in
• • As a Gold member, you enjoy the opportunity to check in earlier. The regular check-in time is from 15:00 or 16:00. Contact the hotel where you will be staying to hear how early you can check in. This is subject to availability
• Late check-out
  
• • As a Gold member, you enjoy the opportunity to check out late. The regular check-out time is 11:00 or 12:00 noon. Ask the hotel where you are staying at how late you can check out. This is subject to availability

PLATINUM:
All above benefits plus:

•  4 % of purchases awarded as FirstCoins
• Stay 2 persons and pay for 1         
• • As a Platinum member, you can stay 2 people and pay for 1.
  • The benefit does not apply to room category upgrade – for example, when booking a single room for one person. The benefit applies when booking a room category for one person, that can accommodate two people, such as a standard double room.
  • When you avail yourself of this advantage, please write a comment when booking or contact the hotel you will be staying at directly to inform them that you are two persons.
• If dinner is included in the room price at the hotel, this benefit does not apply to the accompanying person, i.e., person number 2.
• The benefit cannot be combined with corporate contract rates.
• Hotel specific benefit
            o All our hotels offer hotel-specific benefits to Platinum and Black members. Access the list of all the benefits here.

BLACK:
All above benefits plus:

•  5 % of purchases awarded as FirstCoins
• Free room upgrade
• • As a Black tier member, you enjoy upgrade to the next room category at check-in when you stay with us. The benefits are subject to availability.
• Snacks and beverages in the room
• • When you check in, you can enjoy beverages and snacks in your hotel room.
• Hotel specific benefit
            o All our hotels offer hotel-specific benefits to Platinum and Black members. Access the list of all the benefits here.

3.12 For bookings made through ineligible booking channels, such as third-party channels like booking.com (see item 2.7), you are not eligible to receive member benefits associated with your member tier. To receive the member benefits, the booking must be made through a valid booking channel.

All regular rates, promotional prices on our website and contract rates entitle you to earn bonuses as well as member benefits during your stay.
