A hotel with historical and architectural value
The building of First Hotel Norrtull has a historical and architectural value. It was built in 1923 and served as the headquarter and main warehouse for the AB Vin & Spritcentralen, which until 1994 had the national monopoly for production and distribution of alcohol and spirits in Sweden.
The building is protected by the Swedish National Heritage Board and there are strict rules when it comes to renovation and restoration.
It is still possible to see traces like ramps and elevators from the old days activities, in the hotel. Previously, there was also a railway leading directly into the building from the Norra Station.
