Royal Palace

Madrid's Royal Palace was constructed in the 18th century by Philip V on the site of the old Alcázar fortress, a former Moorish castle. Among the numerous rooms are the Royal Guards' Room, the Column Room, the Hall of Mirrors and King Charles III Room. The palace also features paintings by Velázquez, Goya, Rubens, El Greco and Caravaggio.
