Horten is a port city in Norway with many leafy parklands and several shopping areas. The 40km coastline extends from Re in the north to Tønsberg in the south. Horten has five densely populated areas, namely Horten city center, Åsgårdstrand, Borre, Skoppum and Nykirke. There are plenty of exciting things to do in Horten and its surroundings. You can visit Preus Museum, experience the County of Vestfold’s rich Viking Age heritage, visit the painter Edvard Munch’s house in neighbouring Åsgårdsstrand or simply enjoy the beautiful scenery with walks in the countryside.
You can easily reach Horten by car 88 km south of Oslo along the E18. Sandefjord Airport Torp is located 30 min away. The crossing time to Moss in Østfold on the opposite side of the fiord is 30 min by ferry.
