Conference & Meetings

Campaign: 20 May to 30 September
We're reopening our facilities for conferences and meeting - our strict control measures and procedures ensure a safe environment.

First Hotel Victoria offers multiple large and spacious venues. We have the capacity to welcome both small and large groups while maintaining the recommended distance between the attendants. We're following NHO's (Norwegian Health Organisation) guidelines regarding safety control procedures.

With our 13 meeting venues in different sizes, styles and capacity, everything is arranged for successful meetings and conferences.

We know that good food is a large part of the recipe for a successful gathering, and have therefore created exquisite menus and food for breaks based on local produce from Norway.

Based on the rules and regulations by the government due to Covid-19, we've reduced capacity in our venues. See our safety control procedures here

  • Theater hall

Teatersalen is the hotel's largest event venue and works perfectly for performances, concerts, and conferences. The hall was refurbished in 2016/17 and has comfortable seats, as well as modern lighting and sound equipment.

Teatersalen has an important place in the Norwegian war history. On April 9, 1940, Hamar city became the temporary capital of Norway when Germany invaded the country. The King, the Government, and the Parliament were put on a train to Hamar, and Teatersalen was chosen as an extraordinary parliamentary hall.

Bystyresalen is one of the largest halls in the hotel and works well for both celebrations and conferences. There is a permanently built-in scene in front of the room, and the original, magnificent fishing leg parquet is still intact. The hall was renovated in 2016/17 and has modern technical equipment, as well as very good sound and lighting conditions.

Teatersalongen is a flexible hall that can be used for smaller concerts, performances, parties, conferences, mingling or dining. If desired, a mobile scene can be built. The hall has amazing rosettes in the ceiling and the original chandeliers from the building were used as banquet halls for Hamar's citizens in the 1920s. Roof to floor windows provide wonderful light and there is access to a balcony overlooking Strandgateparken and Mjøsa.

Hjørnesalongen has good natural light conditions, exit to the balcony towards Strandgateparken and Mjøsa, as well as original chandeliers on the ceiling. According to rumors, a mural of an enormous Champagne bottle is hidden behind layers of wallpaper and paint. From older times, the hall was a regular meeting place for a group that went by the name "Champagne Club".

Formannskapssalen is the smallest of the halls on the second floor of Festivitetsbygget. The hall has its own entrance and is located in the middle between the two slightly larger halls, Hjørnesalongen and Teatersalongen. Perfect for mingling, a small work-shop, or a meeting. There is also access to a balcony overlooking Lake Mjøsa and Strandgateparken, as well as classic, original, details on walls and ceilings. This was the room where the District Court was located while the building served as Hamar Town Hall.
