Go Back in Time at Koldinghus
Discover an important piece of history in the center of Kolding, the castle Koldinghus.
Koldinghus was built in the 13th century and played an important part in both Denmark's and Kolding's history for more than 750 years. In 1808 a fire took place in the castle and left it in ruins.
Today, Koldinghus houses a museum with exhibitions from the castle’s prime time. You'll also find special, one-of-a-kind exhibitions. Go back in time: Visit the castle’s dungeons, which used to house prisoners. Listen to all of the stories from way back. Go to the ballroom that held royal celebrations for some of the most popular Danish Kings and Queens. Bring your whole family, both children and adults, as there are activities for all ages and many stories to learn about the history of the castle.
