In the area
There is a lot going on in Örnsköldsvik. The railway Botniabanan is being build, there is many new shoppingmals and a new big event arena. For those who are interested there is a big waterpark, called Paradisbadet, with relax area and a spa. You can also find two nice golf courses.
In the summer time you can find amazing beaches in the area. Gullviks, Nyänget and Salusand is popular beaches.
Experiance the archipelago by visiting Trysunda and Ulvön. This places are very popular and has to be seen, you can find old fishing villages were you can taste fermented Baltic herring.
Brattsands boarfarm and fermented Baltic herring museum in Skeppsmalen is some of the attractions that you also can find in the neighborhood of Örnsköldsvik.
Are you interested in Art? Across the street from the hotel you can find the local sculptor Hans Hedberg museum. Örnsköldsviks museum and the cityhall is also nearby. Don´t miss the highcoast road with lovely hiking rail and if you go to Skuleberget you can find activities for both young and old.
In the wintertime you can go ice skating and skiing on Skyttis ”the open air activities area” a few kilometres from the hotel. In the middle of the town there is a downhill slope, Åsbacken and 20 kilometres south of the city is one called Bjästabacken and if you go 90 kilometers from the coast you can find Solberg, a beautiful skii area. Winterfishing and snowmobile is also popular activities in the winter.
