First Hotel Linköping is a central hotel in Linköping. The hotel was built in 1960 by Kungliga Automobilklubben, The Royal Automobil Club. They felt the need for a hotel suited for royalties in the region, as it is geographically situated on route to several Swedish destinations. Since then, First Hotel Linköping has transformed rather dramatically, especially through the major renovation during 2001. The hotel then took on a contemporary Scandinavian style, featuring the exclusive, but simplistic look and materials usually associated with Scandinavian architecture and design.
