About us
First Hotel Linköping was built in 1960 by Kungliga Automobilklubben, The Royal Automobil Club. They felt the need for a hotel suited for royalties in the region, as it is geographically situated on route to several Swedish destinations. The hotel then featured the facilities deemed essential to well travelled royalties, such as a hair dresser and boutiques, but also the bare necessities, like a petrol station.
Since then, the hotel has transformed rather dramatically, especially through the major renovation during 2001, when the hotel took on a contemporary Scandinavian style, featuring the exclusive, but simplistic look and materials usually associated with Scandinavian architecture and design.
